WEDNESDAY: Furyk on groove changes, drug testing and the AT&T National

Furyk's round-by-round results
Rd. Score Position Eagles Birdies Pars Bogeys Others Scorecard
4 72 (2 over) T7 0 2 14 1 1 Scorecard
Furyk's round went downhill when he bogeyed the par-4 fifth and followed that up with a triple bogey on the sixth hole. Still, it was a good week -- Furyk was second in the field in driving accuracy and first in putts per round.
Rd. Score Position Eagles Birdies Pars Bogeys Others Scorecard
3 69 (1 under) T5 0 2 15 1 0 Scorecard
Furyk ground out a solid 69 that included nine successive pars on the back nine. He had a career day with the driver -- he missed only two fairways and averaged almost 300 yards a pop, but his irons let him down, as he hit just 10 greens.
Rd. Score Position Eagles Birdies Pars Bogeys Others Scorecard
2 67 (3 under) 4 0 4 13 1 0 Scorecard
He's been impressive with the putter so far this week, as he's ranked T2 in putts per round and 14th in putts per greens in regulation. He's also tied for first in sand saves after two rounds.
1 66 (4 under) T4 0 5 12 1 0 Scorecard
As expected, Furyk was solid in the first round. Furyk used only 24 putts, which helped bail out his iron play. The 66 was Furyk's lowest round since the final round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, where he shot 65.

Take Five
Five things you should know about Jim Furyk
His for the last 10 years caddy is Mike "Fluff" Cowan, who was Tiger Woods' caddy for Woods' first two years as a professional. Cowan also caddied for Peter Jacobsen for over 20 years.
His father, Mike Furyk, has been his only instructor Jim has ever had and has never tried to change the unconventional nature of Jim's swing.
Furyk won at least one tournament each year on the PGA TOUR between 1998 and 2003.
Has a very unique but methodical pre-shot routine. Before each swing, Furyk hitches up his pants with his right hand. Before every putt, Furyk reads the line, addresses the ball, steps away, and then repeats the routine before striking the putt.
Ranks third on TOUR in 2009 in approaches over 200 yards. On average, Furyk's shots from behind 200 yards land 44 feet from the cup.
