The best golfers in the world will be in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., for this week's PLAYERS Championship. Here's how the PGATOUR.COM experts sized up the top contenders:
SLEEPER PICKS How it works: Our 10 experts from PGATOUR.COM select any player who isn't ranked in the top 20 of the FedExCup rankings, the top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking and hasn't won that season. By using a draft process, no two picks can be the same. EXPERT PICKS Who do our experts think will capture THE PLAYERS Championship title? Here's who they've picked to win. Click here |

CHAD CAMPBELL. He was that other guy in the Masters playoff. Despite his strong play this year, he's shockingly still ranked outside the top 30 in the world and the FedExCup standings. He also tied for 10th last year at Sawgrass. |
Helen Ross |
STEPHEN AMES. This Canadian from Trinidad & Tobago appears to have figured out the TPC Sawgrass. He won in 2006, was second in 2002 and finished fifth last year, along with two other top 20s. I think he's a steal as a sleeper.
Mike McAllister |
JEFF QUINNEY. He's made two starts at the Stadium Course -- a T6 in 2007 and a third last year when he was just one stroke away from being in the playoff with Sergio Garcia and Paul Goydos. This course obviously fits his game.

Lauren Deason |

J.B. HOLMES. Sawgrass suits this long hitter. He's never missed the cut in three starts at THE PLAYERS, and he tied for 10th last year. Holmes lost in a playoff at the Shell Houston Open about a month ago, so he's not far from another win. |
Mark Spoor |
STUART APPLEBY. Sure, he missed the cut last week at Quail Hollow, but he's got a solid recent history at Sawgrass, and there always seems to be an out-of-nowhere story at these big events. Why not Appleby? |
Ryan Smithson |
TIM CLARK. Straight hitters do well here, and if Tim can simply have a decent week with the putter, he'll score an easy top 10. |
Brian Wacker |
JASON DUFNER. He got into the field when Brandt Snedeker withdrew with a rib injury, so this is somewhat of a karmic pick. He's also accurate off the tee, hits a lot of greens in regulation and is coming off back-to-back top 10s.
T.J. Auclair |
K.J. CHOI. The South Korean has been in a funk lately. Since a tie for 59th at the World Golf Championships-CA Championship, Choi has missed the cut four times and had a tie for 24th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. It's time to turn things around.

BUBBA WATSON. The Stadium Course can feel a little constricting to big bombers, but I like the discipline Bubba exercised in controlling his shots at Quail Hollow last week (T2). |
Ceri Mobley |
JEFF KLAUK. I can hardly believe my luck this week, first I get Poulter and now Klauk. The son of the former superintendent has played this course countless times, he's the hottest rookie on TOUR and he's going to have a big crowd on his side this week. |
LAST WEEK: Mike McAllister earned 90 FedExCup points last week after picking Ian Poulter, who tied for fifth. Each week, we'll update the standings based on the FedExCup points accumulated by the players selected by our experts. Here's how it stands after Week 16:
