As Jeff Quinney looks forward to the 2009 season, he'll undoubtedly be looking for more consistency. The 2000 U.S. Amateur champ played well through the U.S. Open, collecting three top-10s, but only cashed two checks in his final 11 starts.
Quinney came $629 short of a $2 million season -- hitting seven figures for the second time in as many years on TOUR. More than $1.3 million of that came in two events -- second at the Northern Trust Open and solo third at THE PLAYERS Championship.
Quinney actually had a chance to pick up his first TOUR win at THE PLAYERS, making birdie on the 16th hole on Sunday to tie Paul Goydos and Sergio Garcia. He couldnt get up-and-down from the back bunker at the 18th hole and missed the playoff.
