Ken Duke will be making one very important stop in 2009. And the soft-spoken man from Hope, Ark., probably would feel right at home in Augusta, Ga. -- if you took away all that Masters hoopla, that is.
Duke earned his first trip to Augusta National when he finished 22nd in the FedExCup. The reward capped a career year when Duke went over $2 million in earnings for the first time and posted four top-10s -- including two second-place finishes.
Duke didn't really get things going until June when he tied for fourth at the Buick Open and finished runner-up at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee three weeks later. He only missed one cut and finished outside the top 25 just twice in his last 15 events, which included a tie for second at the Ginn sur Mer Classic.
