The PGA TOUR's TPC Louisiana is scheduled to reopen on Friday, September 19 after sustaining damage from Hurricane Gustav. The storm passed through just west of New Orleans in late August, downing trees and forcing the course's closure on August 31. Maintenance and agronomy crews have worked diligently to remove the debris and enhance overall landscaping.
"The golf course is in terrific shape, thanks to the dedication and commitment of our talented team here at TPC Louisiana," said TPC Louisiana General Manager Luke Farabaugh. "We are very fortunate that damage from the storm did not impact the course's playability for our guests or for the upcoming Zurich Classic of New Orleans. We invite everyone to visit the course again and would like to extend our appreciation for the patience and understanding of local golfers during this brief interruption of play."
Due to the course closure, the military fundraising event scheduled for Monday, September 15 at TPC Louisiana has been changed to Monday, October 6. Part of the PGA TOUR's national Birdies for the Brave military outreach program, the event will include a charity golf tournament, live and silent auctions, and the participation of (list military activities). Last year's Birdies for the Brave military fundraiser at TPC Louisiana raised more than $60,000 for military homefront groups that directly serve military men and women and their families.
